A native of Hartwell, Georgia, Emily Moore Newsome received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from The University of Georgia in 2011 and then attended the University of Mississippi School of Law. During law school, Ms. Newsome was a member of the Trial Advocacy Board and the Ole Miss Pro Bono Initiative. After graduation, Ms. Newsome worked as a law clerk for the superior court judges of the Cordele Judicial Circuit.

Ms. Newsome has been an associate attorney with Mr. Coxen since 2016 and specializes in criminal defense, including major felonies, family law, and personal injury litigation.

Ms. Newsome is licensed to practice at every court level in the State of Georgia including the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Georgia. She is also licensed in the United States District Court for the Northern and Middle District of Georgia. Ms. Newsome currently serves as president of the Newton County Bar Association. 

Ms. Newsome resides in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband, David.
